This antique Caucasian rug was woven in the village of Zeichur which is located in the Kuba district in the northeast Caucasus. It features an abstract design of stylized flowers and leaves on a sky blue field. A brown border with flowers and what appear to be stylized elephants frames the field.

This antique Caucasian rug would be as home in a modern interior as it would in a more traditional setting.

Acquired directly from an exceptional New York family collection.
