This antique Bidjar rug was woven in northwest Persia’s Kurdistan Province. It features a classic Open Field format with a sky blue medallion floating on a variegated red field. The navy blue corner spandrels are decorated with the Herati design. A brick red border with light blue guard borders frames the field.

Antique Bidjar rugs are the most durable type of antique Persian rug available, with a dense, double-knotted construction that has earned them the accolade of being The Iron Rug Of Persia.
